November, 1998

- KAFU delegation visit to Portland, USA, negotiations with the Board of Guardians, visit to McMaster University (Canada)

 

May, 1999

- Publication of the “How to Make Business in the USA/How to make Business in Kazakhstan” book by Arizona State University, written by E. Mambetkaziyev and H. Hallman
- A. Volf and I. Chigin were sent to Northwest Nazarene University, USA to get Maters Degrees in Business Administration.  

 

June, 1999

- Solemn ceremony of first students graduation from Economy and Arts International Higher College with the participation of President of the republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev, Governor of the East Kazakhstan Region V. Mette, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan V. Shkolnik, American Partners and Honorary Professors of the College. Students were presented two diplomas (Kazakh and American), certificates, confirming Level of English and computer skills. U.S. citizen, College vice-president was presented a diploma and got the degree of Master of Kazakh Philology (first in the Republic of Kazakhstan). Ceremony of foundation laying of the hotel for foreign partners.

 July, 1999

- College students’ professional internship in Seattle, Chicago, Evansville, Austin, Hartford.

 

October, 1999

- Beginning of cooperation with the Senim nongovernmental organization representative Rick and Bonny Smith in

performing of liberal projects.

 

November, 1999 .

- Establishment of E2 – Educational Services  in Seattle, USA, to support College in selection of foreign teachers and

organization of internship for students in the USA.

 

January, 2000

-End of the “ Stumpf -Cozetto” hotel construction, build with the financial support of Board of Guidance members D. Cozetto and C.Stumpf.

 

February, 2000 .

- Visit of KAFU delegation to the States of: Idaho, Oregon, California, Washington, Arizona. Agreement with Northwest Nazarene University on students and teachers exchange was signed. Meeting with the board of directors of E2 – Educational Services organization, and members of the Board of Guardians of the M. Christensen Fund, negotiations with the member of the Arizona City Council H. Hallman and the Head of Arizona University about joined scientific publications took place.

 April, 2000

- Contract with Eden Ministries for sponsoring Canadian Teachers Participation in College educational process was signed.  

 

August, 2000

- KAFU students professional internship in Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Evansville, Austin, Hartford.

 

September, 2000

- Launch master programs on the “Management” and “Law” majors. KAFU student M. Aubakirova got M. Christensen

Fund’s grant to get Master of Business Administration Degree from Northwest Nazarene University.

 

October, 2000

- College was awarded the Kazakh American Free University Status by the Minister of Education and Science

 

November, 2000

- KAFU office was opened in Portland, USA with the support of M. Christensen Fund

 

December, 2000

- Agreement of cooperation with the “Senym” humanitarian organization was signed

 

May, 2001

- visit of the head of the Board of Guardians of M. Christensen Fund and hotels sponsors C. Stumpf and G. Kozetto.

Inauguration of the hotel.

 

July, 2001

- KAFU students’ professional internship in Seattle, Chicago, Evansville, Austin, Hartford.

 

November, 2001

- Forming of KAFU Board of Guardians, M. Christensen was assigned as the head if the Boat

 

January, 2002

- Establishment of two educational programs at KAFU: American and Kazakhstan. Part-time studies were launched at

KAFU.

 

January, 2002

- KAFU delegation visit to America. Agreement with the AICBE organization on distance education on economic majors

was signed.

 

June, 2002

- E. Mambetkaziyev`s monograph “ University of the XXI Century: Innovations and Reforms” was published at Arizona

State University, USA. Book was published in English, and then republished in Mongolian and Chinese.

 

July, 2002 г

September, 2002 г

- New University`s building was opened on Ulitsa Bazhova 68. KAFU student A. Astafeva got grant of M. Christensen Fund

for education at Northwest Nazarene University (major- Master of Business Administration).  

 

December, 2002

-KAFU was certified by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 14 undergraduate and 2 graduate majors

(Management, Law) were certified. 

 

February, 2003 .

- Visit of KAFU delegation to America (States of Oregon, Arizona, Washington)

 

July, 2003

- KAFU Undergraduate and Graduate students internship in America (Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Evansville, Austin,

Hartford).

 

August, 2003

- Diversified College (14 majors) was established as a part of KAFU.

 

September, 2003

- KAFU students Yu. Sagindykova and N. Kuznetsova got grants of M. Christensen Fund for education at Northwest

Nazarene University (major- Master of Business Administration).   

 

February, 2004

-KAFU delegation visit to America (Washington and Oregon). KAFU President and American Partners were invited by U.S. President G. Bush and took part in the National Prayer Breakfast (Washington);
- Reception at the Kazakhstan Embassy in America

 

June, 2004

-Celebration of the 10th anniversary of KAFU with the participation of 27 foreign partners from Oregon, Arizona, Texas, Alabama (USA), Toronto (Canada), representatives from American Embassy in Kazakhstan, and Peace Corps (USA);
- First Masters were presented their diplomas (majors: “Management”, “Law”).
- Beginning of annual research conferences

 

July, 2004

- KAFU students’ professional internship in Seattle, Chicago, Evansville, Austin, Hartford.

 

September, 2004

- Establishment of the Leadership Center as a part of KAFU with the support of AES, additional financing of the “Eurasia” Fund, and Agency for International Development, USA. KAFU tendered for this grant alongside 50 universities of Kazakhstan.
- Establishment of the “International Marketing”, “Basis of Entrepreneurship” “Human Resource Management”, “Organizational Behavior” distant educational programs at  Letourneau University, Indiana Wesleyan University, Seattle Pacific University, USA.

 

October, 2004

- Establishment of the “International Leadership” program for gifted students. Program presupposes individual tutorship

of leading American, Canadian and European specialists 

 

June, 2005

- Visit of Northwest Nazarene University representatives Dr. B. Rassel and Dr. S. Dunn to KAFU

 

July, 2005

- Registration of the “Vestnik KAFU” scientific journal at the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

- KAFU student S. Nurieva got grant of M. Christensen Fund for education at Northwest Nazarene University (major- Master of Business Administration). After graduation she did her PhD at this university, and now works as a teacher at the brunch of Northwest Nazarene University in South Korea.

- The NQA (Great Britain) issued the University the Certificate of Quality Management System

- KAFU Library was named after Professor S. Couch, one of the leading KAFU

 

July, 2010

- First postgraduate students were presented diplomas (Management: E. Ismataeva, O. Bogun, Law: K. Alembaeva, M.

Bashirova).

- KAFU students’ professional internship in Portland, Seattle, Chicago.

 

October, 2010

- KAFU obtained international accreditation of business-programs from ACBSP, USA. On the commission: Dean of School of Business and Technologies, Kimberling University  Paul Stamb (State of Tennessee, USA),  Professor of Business Department, Kwantlen University Helen Wally (Canada),  Professor of the School of Business Technology Higher College Christian Crol (OAE).  Preparation to the international accreditation was fulfilled within 4 years with the support of Northwest Nazarene University (USA). International specialized accreditation confirms KAFU educations compliance with international requirements and quality standards, provides equivalents of degrees and qualifications on the University’s economic majors, guarantees quality of education, and allows getting not only Kazakhstan, but also American diploma on accredited majors.

 

February, 2011

- KAFU Multimedia Center was named after Professor Patrick Mitchel, one of the leading foreign partners of KAFU. New

graduate major “Finances” was established.

- Ceremonial meeting of the Academic Council, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of KAFU supervisor M. Christensen.

May, 2012

 

- 18 undergraduate, 5 graduate, and 3 postgraduate majors were certified by the Ministry of Education and Science of the

Republic of Kazakhstan.

September, 2012

- Ceremonial meeting of the Academic Council, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of KAFU President E. Mambetkaziyev
